As the SEC Baseball season drew to an end this weekend, the end of the Regular Season brought on awards season. Several LSU Tigers were honored as Kade Anderson and Zac Cowan were named 1st Team All SEC while Jared Jones, Anthony Eyanson, Derek Curiel, and Daniel Dickinson were 2nd Team selections. LSU's 6 selections were the most by any program this year showcasing how talented this roster truly is.

While it's always great to have a roster filled with All-SEC selections, one of LSU's selections was shockingly snubbed from the 1st Team. Every fanbase will argue that their player was the biggest snub but, there's no arguing that Anthony Eyanson didn't belong on the First Team.

Liam Doyle, Kade Anderson, Kyson Witherspoon, and Zach Root were the 4 starting pitchers named to the All-SEC 1st team. It's impossible to argue that Anthony Eyanson should've beaten out the first three pitchers but, he likely should've been the 4th and final selection to the 1st team.

This season, Arkansas' Zach Root posted a 4.16 ERA with a 6-4 record while striking out 102 batters. While Root had a solid season, Anthony Eyanson has a better ERA at 2.88, a better record at 9-2, and struck out 121 batters.

Liam Doyle won the SEC Pitcher of the Year Award and deservingly so with a 2.72 ERA, a 9-3 record, and 137 strikeouts this season. If Doyle is the top in the SEC, then Eyanson's numbers are right there behind him which makes the snub even more ridiculous.

The most likely reason why Anthony Eyanson was snubbed would be the fact that he's probably overlooked as he isn't LSU's Friday starter. Nonetheless, there isn't a pitcher playing better than Eyanson right now and with Eyanson and Kade Anderson in this rotation, LSU has the chance to make a deep postseason run.
