LSU Stumbles in the AP Poll but, the Tigers are very much still in the hunt
Its no secret or surprise that LSU's loss to Texas A&M hurt their chances at making the SEC Championship Game and at making the College Football Playoff. The Tigers now have two losses one is a non-conference loss to a bad USC team and the other is a loss to a Texas A&M team that sits atop the SEC.
The Tigers entered the week ranked eighth in the AP Poll and a win would given them a bump in the AP Poll. Instead the Tigers have lost and have stumbled from 8th to 16th in the Poll.
The good news for LSU is you're right in the hunt when it comes to the College Football Playoff. In two weeks, LSU can help itself when it faces off against 14th ranked Alabama.
Texas A&M still has some tough games left against South Carolina, Auburn, and Texas. 13th ranked Indiana has to play Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State. Tennessee still has to face Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Georgia which could knock them down in the AP Poll. Clemson still has two tough games against South Carolina and Pitt before they may face Miami in the ACC Championship game. Next week Ohio State or Penn State will take a loss as the team's will face each other.
It's disappointing the LSU lost control of its own destiny especially as they controlled the first half of that game but, couldn't capitalize. The good news for LSU is that the Tigers can find their way into the playoff if they stay unbeaten the rest of the way but, the game against Alabama will be massive for both teams.
