The LSU Basketball program has committed to building a program that can compete in the SEC this offseason as the Tigers will retain Matt McMahon while investing more NIL money into the program as LSU ranked near the bottom of the conference in spending. On Monday, we'll start to see just how invested LSU is and how the revamped spending will work out as the transfer portal will officially open.

For the LSU Basketball team, a full scale rebuild needs to be on the horizon after the Tigers finished 15th of 16 in the SEC with a 3-15 conference record. The Tigers will lose some of their best pieces as starters Cam Carter, Jordan Sears, and Dji Bailey were seniors while LSU could lose several key pieces to the transfer portal or the NBA Draft.

LSU has shown early interest in North Dakota State shooting guard Jacari White as they've contacted him since he decided to enter the transfer portal.

This season at North Dakota State, White averaged 17.1 Points per game, 4.3 rebounds per game, 2.3 assists per game, and shot 45.2% from the field and 39.7% from three. White is from Orlando, Florida but, has spent three seasons at North Dakota State which gives him just one season of eligibility.

For LSU, White is an incredibly intriguing transfer based on the needs LSU needs to address in the transfer portal. At 39.7% from three, White would've been LSU's best three-point shooter and after the Tigers couldn't shoot the three in 2025, he'd be a welcomed addition. As LSU loses Cam Carter at shooting guard, LSU will need to add a guard that can knock down open threes which is a role White can easily fill.

While LSU may choose to push for White, he'll have several top schools pursuing him which will show everyone just how bought in LSU is with its new NIL funds. When the transfer portal opens on Monday, it'll be intriguing to see whether White shows interest in LSU or if he sets up a visit to campus.
