The LSU Football program has been rolling on the recruiting trail holding the Nation's 3rd ranked class and the top class in the SEC for the 2026 recruiting cycle. The biggest question for LSU on the recruiting trail has remained about what the Tigers long term plan at quarterback is after not signing a quarterback in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
Bryce Underwood flipped too late in the 2025 recruiting cycle for LSU to pivot as every quarterback was locked in with their schools. Underwood staying on board as long as he did hurt LSU in the 2026 recruiting class as most of the quarterbacks have already committed to schools and appear locked in.
The 2027 recruiting class has seemingly become the best spot for LSU to nab a high school quarterback with a ton of In-State talent and Out of State talent that's showing interest in LSU. This weekend, LSU will host one of its top targets in the 2027 class as Quarterback Trae Taylor will visit LSU.
Headed to @LSUfootball this morning. Will be there for the weekend. Look forward to seeing everyone @CoachBrianKelly @CoachJoeSloan @morgan_bphill @PatrickLKelly @PlayBookAthlete @QBHitList @GregSmithRivals @AllenTrieu @TomLoy247 @SWiltfong_ @EDGYTIM @adamgorney pic.twitter.com/0aHFl4FQWi

Rivals is the only recruiting service to rank Trae Taylor thus far and he comes in as their 14th ranked player in the class, the 4th ranked quarterback, and the top player out of Illinois. After scheduling his Spring visits, Trae Taylor had the following to say about LSU.
"The very first time I visited LSU, I absolutely fell in love with the campus and culture."Trae Taylor
Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach Joe Sloan has shown a ton of interest in Trae Taylor including making the trip out to Illinois this Winter to visit Taylor's High School. The 2027 recruiting class is still a long way from their National Signing Day but, Trae Taylor has emerged as a name to follow for LSU in its pursuit of a future quarterback.
