Throughout the week, we've covered the recruiting visits for this upcoming weekend as LSU continues to build one of the biggest recruiting weekends in the country this weekend. Everyday, a new top 100 recruit has announced their plans to head to Baton Rouge to get a look at LSU for themselves.

The latest to plan their trip to Baton Rouge is Auburn Commit Anquon Fegans who will be returning for his second game of the year as he was in town for the Ole Miss game. Fegans is ranked by On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings as the 57th ranked player in the Country, the 5th ranked safety in the class, and the 3rd ranked player in the State of Alabama.

At points this summer, LSU looked like the favorites to land Anquon Fegans before he announced his commitment. Fegans ended up choosing Auburn over his other finalists LSU, Georgia, and Clemson.

As Hugh Freeze and Auburn continue to struggle this season, team's have a chance to swoop in and start to pick at Auburn's 6th ranked recruiting class. LSU already has a loaded class at safety with commitments from Jhase Thomas, CJ Jimcoily, and Jacob Bradford but, Fegans would quickly become the top safety in LSU's class.

A win changes a ton for LSU this weekend

On the field a win changes the outlook of the season as it would put LSU back in play for the SEC Championship game race and it would put LSU in the race for the College Football Playoff. The Tigers will have a handful of flip targets in the stands, a win quickly excites everyone about LSU and makes signing elsewhere a bit tougher. The 2026 recruiting class could start to grow this weekend with an LSU win as it'll create the buzz around the program under Brian Kelly. Finally, with players like DJ Pickett and Bryce Underwood a winning atmosphere is massive for helping prove why LSU is a better place to go instead of staying to play for their hometown teams.
