LSU will take a break from its streak of night games in their matchup against Florida
The LSU Tigers have played a long stretch of night games as they'll play their fifth straight night game this weekend against Alabama. The Tigers long run of night games will come to an end next weekend when LSU takes on the Florida Gators.
The Tigers will be the afternoon game on ABC as the game will kick off at 2:30 PM Central Time or 3:30 PM Easten Time.
The first reaction is that this must be a massive relief for Lane Kiffin as his complaints were finally heard after he complained last week that LSU plays too many night games. The Tigers vs the Gators were never going to play the night game with Georgia and Tennessee facing off.
After this weekend it looked like DJ Lagway may be out long term, Billy Napier said that his injury wasn't as bad as Florida thought meaning that LSU may get to face the dynamic freshman.
The two schools have faced off in some classic matchups including College Football's first overtime game, 2007's game where LSU went 5-5 on fourth downs, 2010's game with Les Miles' bold fake field goal, and 2020's game where Marco Wilson throwing Kole Taylor's show helped LSU win the game.
If Brian Kelly is truly LSU's coach, he'll attempt a fake kick this weekend as it has always worked for LSU against Florida.
Florida leads the all time series with a record of 33-31-2 if you count the wins LSU vacated while LSU leads 34-33-2 in on field results. LSU has won the last five games in this matchup and are 8-2 over the last ten games.
