The LSU Women's Basketball team continues to reshape it's roster in the transfer portal after falling in the Elite Eight. While the LSU Women's Basketball team was one of the best team's in the Country, they weren't talented enough to make the Final Four or to win an SEC Championship which meant that Kim Mulkey had to elevate the roster.

After a quiet few weeks for the LSU Lady Tigers, Kim Mulkey and her staff are back to making moves in the transfer portal potentially preparing for a massive addition.

LSU Guard Mjracle Sheppard enters the transfer portal opening roster spot

On Tuesday, LSU Lady Tigers guard Mjracle Sheppard entered the transfer portal, leaving LSU one season after transferring into LSU.

The news comes pretty late into the Women's College Basketball transfer window which signals this is more than Sheppard just looking to leave LSU and could be a move made because the staff has other moves in the works. Mjracle Sheppard leaves LSU after one season as she transferred into LSU last Spring after starting her career at Mississippi State.

In her lone season at LSU, Sheppard averaged 3.9 Points per game, 2.3 rebounds per game, and shot 43.7% from the field. Sheppard was a valuable piece for Kim Mulkey off of the bench who flashed when she was on defense with 1.1 steals per game in limited playing time.

While on the surface this will look like Kim Mulkey losing another player, this transfer loss may be by design as Kim Mulkey continues to build this roster. The Tigers now have an open roster spot which allows Kim Mulkey to continue pursuing some of the top players available. The Lady Tigers hosted Wisconsin transfer Serah Williams on a visit to Baton Rouge while the Tigers have been linked with several other top players this cycle.
