The LSU Lady Tigers are currently battling against the Texas Longhorns in the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament Semifinal Game. The Tigers reached the Semifinal behind a 36 point game with 14 rebounds from Aneesah Morrow. The Lady Tigers SEC Tournament hopes and their NCAA Tournament hopes now hang in the balance as Aneesah Morrow has left the game with a foot injury.
Early on in the third quarter Morrow drove to the basket but, got her foot caught as she tried to go up for a layup. Morrow stayed down for a while before being helped off the court and into the locker room and was unable to put any weight on her foot.
The injury isn't fully a new injury as Morrow has been dealing with a foot injury coming into this game as she wore a walking boot into the game. If Aneesah Morrow is unable to return to the game the Lady Tigers will be without both Morrow and Flau'Jae Johnson dealing a massive blow to LSU's roster.
It's unclear the severity of the injury but, it instantly becomes the top story to follow going into the NCAA Tournament as Morrow has been one of the most dominant players in Women's College Basketball this season.
Aneesah Morrow is the focal point of everything the Lady Tigers do on both ends of the court. On the season, Morrow is averaging 18.7 points per game and 14.0 rebounds per game while impacting the game on every possession defensively. For her dominant season, Morrow was named First Team All SEC while winning USA Today's SEC Player of the Year Award and the SEC Defensive Player of the Year award.
While Aneesah Morrow is out, the Lady Tigers will need to lean on Mikaylah Williams while Sa'Myah Smith and Aalyah Del Rosario will need to step up on the inside.
