On Saturday Night, LSU Basketball fans found out that Lady Tigers star Flau'Jae Johnson would miss the game against Ole Miss with an injury as she was ruled out on the SEC Availability Report. On Sunday, LSU fans learned its a much worse injury than originally expected as Kim Mulkey ruled her star out through the end of the SEC Tournament.

Flau'Jae Johnson is dealing with inflammation in her shin which will cause her to miss the SEC Tournament. Through the past few weeks, Flau'Jae Johnson has been sporting a leg sleeve on her leg after she was nicked up in the game against Texas.

The news that Flau'Jae is injured and long term is terrible news for the LSU Lady Tigers as they were looking to go on a deep run in the SEC Tournament before the NCAA Tournament. Johnson didn't appear to be fully healthy during the Alabama game so shutting her down to ensure she is healthy for the NCAA Tournament makes the most sense. Given that Johnson had struggled as of late the hope was that she could find her rhythm again but, ensuring she's healthy is all that matters for LSU.

On the season, Flau'Jae Johnson is averaging 18.9 Points Per Game, 5.8 Rebounds Per Game, and 2.4 assists per game as she's played at an All American Level.

During the SEC Tournament, LSU will need to lean on its dominant duo of Aneesah Morrow and Mikaylah Williams who have been forces for the Lady Tigers alongside Johnson. Kim Mulkey will be looking at her bench to see who can step up while the team is without Johnson thus earning a bigger role when the NCAA Tournament roles around. All eyes will be on Kailyn Gilbert and Mjracle Sheppard to fill the role off of the bench.
