The New York Giants haven't given their fanbase a ton to cheer for this season as they'll miss the playoffs while having an abysmal season in their 100th season as a franchise. One of the lone bright spots in a lost season has been Malik Nabers the team's 6th overall pick out of LSU.
As a Rookie, Nabers has carried the Giants passing attack putting up massive performance after massive performance. On Sunday, Malik Nabers took a hold of a New York Giants franchise record as he passed Steve Smith's 2009 season for the most receptions in a single season.
In this game, Malik Nabers set the record for the most receptions by a rookie wide receiver and will now battle Brock Bowers for the most receptions in a single season by any rookie regardless of position.
Many will argue that Nabers record isn't the real record because of the additional game on the schedule but, the argument doesn't apply to Nabers who will finish the year with just 15 games played as he missed time with an injury.
What Malik Nabers has been able to do this season given his situation is nothing short of incredible. This season, Malik Nabers has had four different quarterbacks in Daniel Jones, Tommy DeVito, Drew Lock, and Tim Boyle none of which are quarterbacks that are lighting the league up.
The Giants head into an important offseason where they'll need to find their franchise quarterback and that transition will be made much easier by the fact that the Rookie will come into the NFL with a true elite wide receiver to target. It'll be exciting to see what Malik Nabers is able to do once he has solid quarterback play as he's been electric as a rookie.
