The LSU Basketball team hasn't had a great season, an 11-2 Non-Conference record proved to be fool's gold as the Tigers beat up on some weaker opponents as they're currently just 3-14 in SEC Play. One regular season game remains for the Tigers as LSU will close its regular season on Saturday against 22nd ranked Texas A&M.

This time of year all College Basketball fans are looking toward the NCAA Tournament looking to see projected brackets and if their team will be in the big dance. Currently, LSU Basketball isn't in the NCAA Tournament field and the Tigers aren't even on the bubble. While LSU currently isn't in the NCAA Tournament picture, one path remains a possibility for the LSU Tigers.

Winning the SEC Tournament is LSU's Only Path

Given LSU's current record and the fact that ten of LSU's 14 wins came against Quad Four opponents, LSU won't be able to make the NCAA Tournament as an At Large team. The path to the NCAA Tournament for LSU is winning the SEC Tournament as it'd give the Tigers an automatic bid into March Madness as an at-large bid is out of the question.

The Tigers are locked in as the 15th seed out of 16 teams in the SEC meaning the Tigers will have to go through a gauntlet to win the SEC Tournament. If every top seed won, LSU would need to beat the 10th, 7th, 2nd, 3rd, and top ranked teams in the SEC.

Winning the SEC Tournament would take a massive turnaround for the LSU Basketball team as they'd need to win 5 games in 5 days when the Tigers have only won 3 games to this point in SEC play. The SEC Tournament begins on March 12th running through March 16th with games everyday leading into Selection Sunday.
