The NFL Draft Cycle is in full swing as the Senior Bowl is now in the books while the Super Bowl will officially kick off the NFL Offseason. In Mobile, Alabama at the Senior Bowl, Mason Taylor was one of the biggest winners as he flashed his ability as a receiver while showing off his improved blocking which helped LSU a ton in 2024.

The consensus is that Penn State's Tyler Warren and Michigan's Colston Loveland will be the two tight ends that hear their name called first in the tight end group. Aside from the debate over who's the third best quarterback in the class, the argument over who is the third best tight end is spirited with several top contenders.

On Mel Kiper Jr and Field Yates' show First Draft, the pair talked about the 2025 Draft Class of Tight End and who may be the biggest sleeper of them all.

Field Yates was quick to name Mason Taylor the 3rd best Tight End in the class pointing to his improvement and increased usage this season.

"I think there's a chance that it's Mason Taylor, when it's all said and done, out of LSU who had his best season as a collegiate this past year for LSU. No surprise, with no Brian Thomas Jr and, of course, Malik Nabers he got more opportunity."

Aside from his increased production this season, Field Yates also pointed to Taylor's ability as a blocker as an aspect that will be appealing to NFL Front Offices.

"This kid's a house. This kid is huge. Very natural catcher of the football and he can hold his own as a blocker."

Mel Kiper Jr leaned toward Miami's Elijah Arroyo as the third best tight end in the class but, he still emphasized that he likes Taylor's consistency and will be drafted early on in the 2025 NFL Draft.

"Mason Taylor? You know what you're getting. Like I said, very steady, reliable. It's a safe pick in that second, third round area."

As things currently stand, Mason Taylor is being Mock Drafted as early as the start of the second round to as late as the end of the third round but, the consensus is seemingly that Day Two is the absolute floor for Taylor. The best thing for Taylor would be putting on another impressive showing at the NFL Combine and LSU's Pro Day as it'll only increase his status with NFL Front Offices.
