The biggest storyline of the 2025 recruiting cycle was far and away the recruitment of the top ranked player in the class Bryce Underwood. The Nation's top recruit was also the Nation's top ranked player which only added fuel to the recruitment. LSU won out when Bryce Underwood committed in the winter before his Senior season and made it seem as if he wasn't entertaining any other program.

Then the recruitment took one of the wilder turns we may see in this NIL and transfer portal era leading to Underwood flipping to In-State Michigan. The world's 4th richest man according to Forbes Larry Ellison jumped into the recruitment along with Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy offering up what has been called the largest NIL Deal in College sports history.

As of late, rumors have started to circulate on social media as people (Mostly Ohio State fans) have started to spread rumors that Bryce Underwood may leave Michigan. The "rumors" have been that Michigan was missing NIL payments and that Underwood was back in contact with LSU. While these rumors clearly seemed to be a figment of Ohio State fans' imaginations, many online have run with the rumors.

On Friday, Bryce Underwood finally went public denying the rumors of his potential departure from Michigan for LSU.

The rumors were obviously fake especially considering the fact that Underwood couldn't leave Michigan if he wanted to as the transfer portal is closed.

While Underwood is immensely talented it's also hard to say if the Tigers would take Bryce Underwood after he humiliated the staff with his flip and the team is now prioritizing other recruits. While LSU would've loved to hold onto Bryce Underwood, the Tigers pivoted and brought in an elite transfer class as the move led to LSU receiving an influx of NIL money which was put to work making the roster a Playoff contender.
