The Lane Kiffin sweepstakes continue to draw the interest of college football fans across the country. Three fan bases are especially locked in to every development, as LSU, Florida, and Ole Miss are all heavily vying for Kiffin's services.
Garrett Nussmeier's latest injury update puts final home start in serious jeopardy
As the saga continues on, Florida is reportedly set to meet with a different candidate, which could benefit LSU. According to On3, the Gators are set to meet with Tulane head coach Jon Sumrall about their job opening. Could this a sign that Florida is bowing out of the Lane Kiffin sweepstakes?

Florida set to meet with Jon Sumrall
Lane Kiffin has yet to decide on his future. With LSU, Florida, and Ole Miss all awaiting a decision, it's only reasonable that they look into other coaches as well. It's possible that Florida is growing frustrated with Kiffin's indecision, and has decided to pursue Sumrall in the meantime.
Sumrall is a rising star in the coaching ranks, and has drawn plenty of interest from Power Four schools looking for new head coaches. Earlier this month, On3's Pete Nakos reported that Sumrall was a legitimate candidate for the Auburn job. Now, it appears that Florida is making their move.
Sumrall has done nothing but win over the last four seasons at Troy and Tulane. He led the Trojans to a remarkable 23-4 record through two seasons at Troy, and has led Tulane to an overall record of 17-7 in New Orleans with Tulane. The Green Wave are 8-2 this season and are vying for a spot in the College Football Playoff. If the season ended today, Tulane would grab the Group of Five bid in the playoff based on the Week 13 CFP rankings that were released on Tuesday.
Sumrall would be a fantastic hire, but it's clear that Kiffin is priority No. 1 for the Gators - as well as other schools. It's been a wild season in the college football coaching carousel, and it doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon.
