The LSU quarterback room is in great shape heading into Lane Kiffin's first season in Baton Rouge. Kiffin brought in three QBs through the portal, including the No. 1 overall player on the market in former Arizona State QB Sam Leavitt.
Kiffin also brought in former 5-star USC prospect Husan Longstreet and FCS All-American Landen Clark from Elon. Those additions give LSU arguably the deepest QB room in the SEC.

While LSU's quarterback situation is looking strong for 2026, that isn't stopping Kiffin and his staff from still thinking about the future.
Hailing from right down the road at The Dunham School in Baton Rouge, 5-star QB Elijah Haven is one of the top players in the country for the 2027 class that Kiffin and the Tigers are fighting for. However, a new SEC team has emerged into the fight to land Haven's services.
Kentucky is making a move on 5-star QB and Baton Rouge native Elijah Haven
Kentucky made the move to fire Mark Stoops following the conclusion of the 2025 season. The new man in charge in Lexington is former Oregon offensive coordinator Will Stein, and he and his staff are making a move on Haven.
According to Jacob Polacheck of On3, Haven is expected to visit Lexington in the spring. It's clear that Stein is making an early impact at Kentucky, as getting the attention of a 5-star player like Haven is certainly a win for the Wildcats.

Former LSU offensive coordinator Joe Sloan joined Stein's staff in Lexington, and he has an established relationship with Haven from his time with LSU. That could spell bad news for LSU.
Haven visited LSU back in September for the home opener against Florida, and given his close proximity, Kiffin and the Tigers figure to keep their foot on the gas during Haven's recruitment. Georgia, Penn State, Alabama, Florida, and Auburn are all in the mix as well, and it will be interesting to see how Haven's recruitment progresses this spring.
According to Rivals Industry Recruiting Rankings, Haven is the No. 1 quarterback and the No. 13 overall player in the country for the 2027 recruiting class. This past season, Haven earned Gatorade and MaxPreps Player of the Year honors in Louisiana. The 6'5" 215-pound gunslinger set state records for touchdown passes (62) and total touchdowns (73), while also completing 72.3% of his passes for 3,931 yards. He also added 794 yards and 11 touchdowns on 127 carries on the ground. His efforts led Dunham to a 13-1 record and a Division III Select state title.
