LSU vs Texas A&M prediction
LSU has struggled with mobile quarterbacks this season. Ole Miss' Trinidad Chambliss and Vanderbilt's Diego Pavia both torched the Tigers on the ground, and Texas A&M's Marcel Reed has the ability to do the same. Not having Whit Weeks in the mix is an especially tough blow for LSU when trying to slow Reed down.
Texas A&M is scoring 36.1 points per game this season. LSU has had trouble scoring points consistently all season long, and is averaging just 20.5 points per game against FBS opponents. The Tiger running game hasn't gotten going, and injuries to the offensive line put the run game in another tough spot against a vaunted Texas A&M defense. The Aggies rank 6th in the country with 25 sacks this season, and after Nussmeier was under constant duress against Vanderbilt, the LSU offensive line has a tough task ahead holding Cashius Howell and company in check.
The national focus around this matchup hasn't necessarily been the matchup on the field - it's been discussion surrounding Brian Kelly's job status in Baton Rouge. Kelly is in hot water with the LSU fan base, which has taken over headlines during the last week. That can cause plenty of distractions, and given LSU's struggles already this season, it's tough to know what to expect from the Tigers in this one. But on the field, LSU simply hasn't put it all together. The Tigers have failed to play complimentary football, and it has cost them. They are in serious danger of falling to 2-3 in SEC play in this one.
Score prediction: Texas A&M wins 30-24
