As the College Football season continues, the recruiting season for the most part is coming to an end. A majority of the top recruits in the country are committed at this point meaning schools are mostly worried about flipping recruits and protecting their class from being flipped.

The LSU Tigers along with some other schools have made some solid progress in flipping another SEC schools' commitment as of late. Offensive tackle Mario Nash Jr decommitted from Mississippi State on Monday.

When Nash originally committed, he chose Mississippi State over LSU, Ole Miss, Clemson, and Florida State among others.

This decommitment comes on the heels of Nash visiting Florida State but, the Seminoles may not be the only team that has made progress here. LSU hosted Nash during the jam packed recruiting weekend the Tigers had when UCLA came to Baton Rouge.

The Tigers have been one of the team's recruiting Nash the hardest hosting him this Summer before his commitment date but, ultimately fell short. Brad Davis already has a loaded class of commitments but, he has always been known to sign bigger classes than most coaches.

On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings tab Nash as a four-star recruit, as the 22nd best offensive tackle in the class and the 270th best player in the country.

Why landing Nash would be important for LSU

The LSU Football team has a loaded group of commitments on the offensive line in this class but, for the most part the commits are considered players best suited on the interior offensive line. Landing Nash would give LSU a true offensive tackle commitment and another player that Brad Davis can develop into a star. The Tigers will lose both offensive tackles Will Campbell and Emery Jones Jr to the NFL Draft this offseason so keeping the room filled with top tier talents will be important for LSU.
