After a blazing hot start to the transfer portal cycle, the LSU Basketball program has since slowed down as the Tigers plugged most of their glaring holes. As the Tigers landed Dedan Thomas Jr as the focal point of the team and surrounded him with several pieces the Tigers will help elevate this team, the Tigers roster started to take shape. However, after LSU filled all of its biggest needs, the Tigers took a step back to evaluate the rest of the pieces in the transfer portal as players continued to trickle into the portal.

As the roster is nearly complete, the biggest need outstanding for the Tigers was at guard as the Tigers needed to add more scoring alongside Dedan Thomas Jr, specifically ones who can knockdown the three at an elite clip. On Monday, the LSU Basketball team took a significant step toward adding that player.

Elite shooter Blake Harper names LSU 1 of 4 teams in contention

On Monday, Howard transfer Blake Harper revealed the four options he's considering naming LSU alongside Ohio State, Creighton, and a return to Howard.

This season Blake Harper was a freshman at Howard yet, he was one of the Nation's top scoring guards. Harper averaged 19.5 points per game which ranked 26th in the Country with 6.2 rebounds per game, and 3.4 assists per game. Harper is one of the best shooters in the Country knocking down 44.7% of his field goal attempts and 40.4% of his three point attempts.

One of the most ideal pieces of adding Blake Harper is he fact that he's coming off of his Freshman season which makes him a multi-year addition alongside Dedan Thomas Jr.

Blake Harper is one of the most ideal players to add alongside of a point guard of Dedan Thomas Jr's caliber. Harper is a massive guard at 6 foot 8 with the ability to score at all three levels which makes him a great scorer to pair with an elite point guard. If Matt McMahon and his staff can close out the recruitment of Blake Harper, the Tigers would have a fully rebuilt roster capable of making a run in the NCAA Tournament.
