On Monday Night, LSU Baseball fans got to witness an awesome moment as two LSU legends faced off in the MLB. Paul Skenes coming off of his Rookie of the Year campaign faced off against his former LSU teammate Dylan Crews who's looking to capture the magic Skenes found last year. Seeing the 1st and 2nd overall pick in any draft face off for the first time is always incredible but, when both came from the same school where they won a National Championship only makes it better.
The two faced off for the first time in the top of the 2nd inning where Dylan Crews grounded out to Paul Skenes to end the inning.

In the 5th inning, the two would face off for the final time in this matchup with Paul Skenes once again getting the upper hand getting Dylan Crews to ground out to third base after Crews worked an 0-2 count to 3-2.
Dylan Crews remained in the game but, struck out in the top of the 7th inning and grounded out to third base in the top of the ninth inning to end the game with Skenes and the Pittsburgh Pirates a 10-3 win.
For Paul Skenes, this start was business as usual as he bounced back from a rare tough start. Skenes finished the game pitching 6.0 innings with 6 strikeouts allowing just 3 hits and 1 earned run without allowing a walk. Skenes is now 2-1 on the season lowering his ERA to 2.96 on the season as he looks to make a run at the Cy Young Award.
On the other side, LSU and Nationals fans need to rally behind Dylan Crews as he's had a rough start to the year. The 0-4 game lowered Crews' batting average to .116 on the season, while his on-base percentage is .143. Crews' BABIP indicates that he's one of the unluckiest batters in baseball this season, which indicates that he should start to see hits coming his way.
It was incredible to see the two facing off and we're all excited to see the next matchups as these two will have long careers ahead of them.
