This weekend wasn't the best of slates as some of the best teams in the country hit the bye week before starting off their slate of Conference games. The weekend did however deliver as we saw some teams in the College Football Playoff mix drop backbreaking games falling out of contention. It seems like week after week, we're seeing a team ranked in the Top 12 suffer an incredible loss which could derail their season.

This weekend told us a ton about nearly every team in the Country as some teams that view themselves as National Title Contenders struggled with far inferior teams. The full effect of NIL and the transfer portal is seemingly underway as there has been a ton of sloppy football across the country. After week four, here is how we feel the College Football Playoff Picture will pan out.

We have four new teams entering the College Football Playoff with Utah, Penn State, Clemson, and UNLV entering the picture. The first change is with our Big 12 Champion as Oklahoma State lost to Utah without Cam Rising while Kansas State also lost late on Saturday night. We drop Missouri and USC out of the Playoff picture after their showings this weekend. Penn State moves up with their dominant performance while Clemson has dominated since their loss to Georgia and they have an easy remaining schedule.

The Group of Five bid changed as well as Northern Illinois lost to Buffalo and UNLV is the next team in line as they've impressed early on.

The first team out in College Basketball terms is Missouri who we drop out of the picture after they hardly beat out Vanderbilt.

The Texas Longhorns jump ahead of the Ohio State Buckeyes for the top spot, as Texas won with ease with its backup quarterback while the Buckeyes found themselves in a game for the better part of the first half against Marshall. Miami remains the third ranked team and the front-runner for the ACC Championship as they dismantled South Florida.

Georgia and Alabama stay put ahead of their matchup in Tuscaloosa, this game very well could decide who's playing in Atlanta for the SEC Championship at the end of the season. Tennessee was incredibly impressive but, they stand pat as well given that we had them ranked much higher than the rest of the country. Finally, Oregon and Ole Miss remain in their respective spots, its hard to move either team up in the rankings until they play anyone.

The LSU Football team is still at the point that they have to prove they belong against one of the tougher teams on their schedule. The Tigers have South Alabama this weekend, followed by a bye week before facing Ole Miss. If the Tigers are able to handle business and are able to beat Ole Miss, there's a good chance they enter the playoff hunt.

The Week to Come in College Football

This upcoming weekend could be the weekend that determines which teams are playing for their Conference Championships. Alabama vs Georgia will shape the race in the SEC with the winner having the inside track at a trip to Atlanta. Penn State hosts an impressive Illinois team that would put itself right into the conversation with an upset win. Ole Miss opens SEC play against Kentucky who gave Georgia a tough game last weekend. We're still a long way away from the College Football Playoff but, this season has been filled with twists and turns.
