We're now through week three of the College Football season which is four weeks including the Week Zero games. Through these three weeks, there was a ton of shakeup in the College Football Playoff picture but, the teams at or near the top haven't been tested outside of a few portions of games.

That changed this weekend as Georgia found themselves in a war with the Kentucky Wildcats late in the fourth quarter. As Georgia started to suffer some injuries in that game you started to see the impact of consistently losing elite talent to the NFL as some of Georgia's replacements weren't up to par.

This week didn't have as many great matchups as week two had and week four won't either but, chaos is always looming when you least expect it. These next few weeks will truly shape the picture of the College Football Playoff but, after three weeks, here is where things currently stand.

We have the biggest shakeup in the SEC where we have the Texas Longhorns as our newest front-runner to win the SEC overtaking the Georgia Bulldogs. Both of these teams suffered massive injuries on Saturday with Texas losing quarterback Quinn Ewers and Georgia losing guard Tate Ratledge. As things currently stand you have to wonder if Georgia has the weapons on the outside needed to win the SEC, especially with their loaded schedule.

The biggest benefactor of Georgia's struggles are the Ohio State Buckeyes who slide into the top ranking even though they were on a bye this weekend. This team won't get tested until late October into early November when they'll face Oregon, Penn State, and Nebraska but, it may bode well for the Buckeyes as all of their transfers continue to gel.

Miami and Oklahoma State handled business this weekend and remain our predicted winners for the ACC and Big 12 although the Big 12 will be hectic.

The next change we have is between Ole Miss and Oregon swapping their two projected seeds from last weekend. Oregon still hasn't looked like they've hit that next gear while Ole Miss looked impressive in their win over Wake Forest.

We bump the USC Trojans up one spot in the rankings while they were on a bye week, their win over LSU looks a little better after the Tigers kick off their SEC schedule 1-0.

Welcome to the party Missouri as the Missouri Tigers join our playoff picture for the first time this season. We wanted to see Missouri compete against a quality opponent before we put them firmly in the picture and now with a win over Boston College, they're in the party for now. September will finish out for Mizzou with games against Vanderbilt and a bye week so, Missouri should enter October in the Playoff picture.

Finally, as the highest ranked nonpower four champion Northern Illinois remains our pick this weekend. The Huskies hold the best win of the season for the group of teams elligible to land in this seed and remain one of the best as the 23rd ranked team in the latest AP Poll.

For now, the LSU Football team remains on the outside looking in but, the win over South Carolina was a step in the right direction. The LSU Football team won't face a ton of pushback these next few weeks and we can't talk about them being a playoff contender until they face Ole Miss.

The Week to come in College Football

This upcoming weekend will be another less exciting weekend as some of the top schools will be on a bye week this weekend. We'll get a ranked-on-ranked matchup between Illinois and Nebraska on Friday night and the winner could jump into the top 20. On Saturday, we'll see the USC Trojans head to Ann Arbor in their first Big Ten game which could deal Michigan a massive blow. The Big 12 could be decided this weekend as Oklahoma State hosts the Utah Utes in a matchup of top 15 teams. The game of the weekend will be when 6th ranked Tennessee travels to 15th ranked Oklahoma in the Sooners first game as a SEC program.
