The LSU Football team has been dominant on the recruiting trail especially when it comes to keeping elite talents in state. The recruiting services have just started ranking recruits in 2027 recruiting class which has seen a few Louisiana natives crack the top-100 rankings.

Cracking the top-100 for both On3 and 24/7 Sports has been Ahmad Houston a wide receiver or tight end in the 2027 recruiting class.

2027 recruit Ahmad Hudson is an LSU legacy but, he is not an LSU Football legacy. Ahmad's father Antonio was a standout for the LSU Basketball team from 2002-2005. Hudson made the 2002 and 2005 All-SEC Tournament teams during his time at LSU. For his career, Hudson averaged 10.2 points per game and 3.3 rebounds per game while shooting .423 from the field for his career.

According to On3, Hudson is the 92nd-ranked recruit in the class while 24/7 Sports ranks him as the 32nd-ranked recruit and the top tight end in the class. Hudson is one of the four Louisiana Natives to crack the top-100 rankings in both 2027 top 100's.

The Tigers are already the in-state school paired with a legacy school which gives them the inside track. The Tigers May get an added boost if LSU lands Hudson’s teammate Aidan Anding on August 24th.

2026 and 2027 in-state classes are massive for LSU

The in-state classes the past few seasons have been strong but, nothing compares to what’s in the pipeline in 2026 and 2027. The LSU Football team could land three straight top ranked recruits if they land in-state targets Jahkeem Stewart and Elijah Haven. Bo and Brad Davis should be pleased as the state has a ton of four and five star talent in the trenches to pick from. Weapons like Hudson and Jabari Mack will be top target for Cortez Hankton.
