The WNBA Regular Season kicked off this week meaning star rookies like Caitlin Clark, Cameron Brink, and Angel Reese got to make their debuts. The Chicago Sky are going through a rebuild seeing key players Candace Parker, Courtney Vandersloot, and Kahleah Cooper depart throughout the past year. The rebuild has allowed the team however to add two of the most exciting rookies and former college rivals Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso.

While Cardoso is out with an injury, Angel Reese is taking center stage and made her official debut as a starter for the Sky. Reese started slow missing her first three shots while struggling at the free throw line finishing with just one point at halftime. She'd turn it around in the second half finishing the game with 12 points, eight rebounds, and a steal.

The "Chi-Town Barbie" had a rough game shooting going 5-14 from the field and 2-8 from the free throw line but, so have other rookies thus far as Caitlin Clark shot 5-15 from the field with ten turnovers.

While her WNBA debut wasn't the best start to her career, she'll certainly improve in a few areas now that the pressure of her professional debut is over. Reese shot just 25% from the line while she was a 73% free throw shooter this past season for the LSU Tigers.

The talent of the league is showing this season

The WNBA and Women's basketball are at its peak in popularity with the star power of Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese arriving in the WNBA. Now that fans are starting to watch the league the talent level of the athletes is being appreciated. It may take some time for this rookie class to adjust to the more talented league.
