For the third straight year, Brian Kelly has been the leadoff coach at SEC Media Day down in Dallas, Texas. Brian Kelly gets to be the first coach to speak to the media as he discuss the LSU Football program and where it stands going into the 2024 Season. Kelly started the day off by addressing the honest truth about the defensive struggles during the 2023 season.

It's early on in SEC Media Days but, Brian Kelly is already the front runner for the analogy of the year. When talking about Garrett Nussmeier and his development from backup to starting quarterback heading into the season, Brian Kelly made a comparison that makes a ton of sense but, we're not sure it's ever been used before.

"When you are the number two, it's kind of like a rental car. When you own the car it's a sense of pride. He's waited for this opportunity to drive this car and no one is going to mess with him. Now its his car and you can see the way he's driving, he's very proud of this car. You can see the leadership coming together as the starting Quarterback."

Brian Kelly was then asked about his first car and his answer may have been the best answer anyone gives all week. Kelly said his first car was a water damaged car that was stolen and dropped into a pond but, it was a 1974 Ford Mustang II with a 8 track tape player and he was rocking Bachman Turner Overdrive and Deep Purple.

Massive Shoes to Fill for Garrett Nussmeier

After Jayden Daniels incredible Heisman trophy winning season, Garrett Nussmeier has massive shoes to fill this season. The biggest factor that should help in Nussmeier's development is experience as he's been able to sit behind a great player in Jayden Daniels while also getting game experience. If the LSU offense is going to succeed in 2024 it starts with Garrett Nussmeier looking like a seasoned pro early on.
