The LSU Football team has dropped yet another season opener meaning we'll have to hear the stat about how LSU hasn't won a season opener since 2019 for another year. This was a game that the LSU Football team could've won and they likely should've. Instead, the Tigers squandered away another fourth-quarter lead and now LSU faces an uphill battle if the Tigers want to make the College Football Playoff.

A ton of blame will fall on Brian Kelly as it felt like at times his team was sloppy and undisciplined while he definitely got outcoached. Brian Kelly was forced to face the media after the game where he certainly wasn't happy.

For the first time in Brian Kelly's tenure, he claims he's angry at his team noting the personal fouls (On Major Burns, Kyren Lacy, and Jardin Gilbert) all of which directly led to points.

"It's the first time since I've been here that I'm angry at my football team. They were selfish and led to scores. They fall back on me."

Brian Kelly later reportedly punched the table and raised his voice in anger saying the following:

"We're sitting here again and talking about the same things. About not finishing when you have an opponent in a position to put em away but, what we're doing on the sideline is feeling like the game's over and I'm so angry about it that I gotta do something about it."

Brian Kelly

This is the most damning quote as Kelly makes it out like the Tigers felt like this one was in the bag on the sideline rather than putting the game away.

He finally touched on the defense and actually put the blame for this loss on the offense.

"We put way too much pressure on our defense to be something they’re not ready to be."

An idea for Brian Kelly in Week Two Versus Nicholls

Brian Kelly pointed the fingers to members celebrating before the game was over and the personal fouls in this game as things that need to change. In Week two, don't play any of those players if that's the case let the true freshmen and the players that do things the right way get the chance to prove they're ready to play. The Tigers should have no issue against Nicholls and it would be a great opportunity to prove a point that playing time is up for grabs.
