Monday kicks off the week long circus that is SEC Media day and the event should be crazier than its been in past years. The additions of Texas and Oklahoma to the SEC bring two historic programs to the event. For the third straight year Brian Kelly will kick off SEC Media Day talking about the LSU Football program.

It's no secret that the 2023 LSU Football team had its flaws mostly on the defensive side of the football. The 2023 season saw the LSU football team field arguably the Nation's best offense paired with the Nation's worst defense. Brian Kelly spoke on his teams defensive struggles in 2023 at SEC Media day saying the following:

"Being in the Playoff and playing for championships is the measuring stick and we fell short of that, but ten win seasons are hard to come by no matter what. At the end of the day, I let go of my entire defensive staff, so I knew we needed to get better."

The comments show how high the standard is at LSU and with Brian Kelly for how this program needs to perform. Most programs would be ecstatic with a ten win season where they had the Heisman trophy winner but, at LSU a defense that bad is unacceptable.

Blake Baker and his staff will bring massive changes

The LSU Football team now has three of the best coaches at developing talent on the defensive staff in Corey Raymond, Bo Davis, and Blake Baker. Blake Baker is one of the most impressive defensive coordinators in the country and his scheme will transform this LSU Defense. Over the past few seasons, LSU's defensive talent hasn't developed to the fullest extent which should no longer be an issue with a better player development staff.
