College Football National Championship Locations for 2025 and Beyond

The expanded College Football Playoff has brought a ton of excitement to the sport as it seems now more than ever any team can compete for a chance to win the National Championship. The best wrinkle is that there will be home playoff games as the teams seeded fifth through eighth will host their opening game of the playoff at home. After the first round the remaining eight tean will play in traditional bowl venues before playing semi-final bowl games. Here are the three next locations for the College Football National Championship game.

2025 - Mercedes Benz Stadium - Atlanta, GA

The College Football Playoff National Championship returns to Mercedes Benz Stadium this upcoming season for the second time in the Playoff Era. Mercedes Benz Stadium last hosted the game in 2018 when Tua Tagovailoa and Alabama beat Georgia in one of the most memorable College Football Games of all time. The SEC has expanded and with the stadium hosting the SEC Championship we may see a rematch of the SEC Title Game in the National Championship.

2026 - Hard Rock Stadium - Miami, FL

The National Championship Game will also make its second appearance in Miami for the 2026 National Championship Game. The Hard Rock Stadium last had the game for the 2021 National Championship Game which had attendance affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The last National Championship in Miami featured Alabama dominating Ohio State 52-24.

2027 - Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas, NV

In 2027, for the first time ever, the College Football Playoff National Championship Game will be played in Las Vegas. The game will be hosted at the Las Vegas Raiders arena, Allegiant Stadium which opened its doors in 2020. In hosting the National Championship, Las Vegas will become the eleventh market to host the game in the Playoff Era. This past year, Allegiant hosted the Super Bowl getting rave reviews for both the stadium and the city's ability to host a massive event.

Candidates for 2028, 2029, and 2030

The games for the rest of the decade haven't been planned yet but, there are three cities all vying for a different year. The front-runner for the 2028 National Championship is New Orleans which lasted hosted the game when LSU capped off the best season ever at home. The city of Dallas is pushing hard for 2029 after last hosting the game in 2015 where Ohio State won the inaugural College Football Playoff. Although they're hosting the event in 2026 Miami is pushing to land the game again in 2030 although we may see a new city receiver the game.
