The shocking move by John Calipari to head to Arkansas has created chaos in both the transfer portal and with the incoming recruiting class. One of the major prospects to keep an eye on in the coming weeks will be four-star Small Forward Billy Richmond. The Nation's 22nd ranked recruit chose Kentucky over LSU, Alabama, and Memphis but, has been let out of his letter of intent and is re-opening his recruitment.

The Arkansas Razorbacks will certainly be a front-runner for Richmond with the arrival of Calipari but, the LSU Tigers may get another chance at the New Jersey Native. Richmond was teammates with former Kentucky guard DJ Wagner who's currently in the transfer portal which may tell us where both end up going.

The left-handed wing is one of the most athletic players in the class with an incredible burst. Richmond is a competitor on the defensive end of the court while constantly attacking on the offensive end of the court.

The LSU Tigers are building an incredible group for the 2024-25 season with five newcomers in transfers Jordan Sears and Cam Carter and four-star recruits Robert Miller, Curtis Givens, and Vyctorius Miller. The team also returns key pieces in Tyrell Ward and Jalen Reed which should shake out LSU's rotation. Adding Richmond would give the Tigers another piece that's capable of playing the wing with the chance of helping in the year's to come.

How high is the celling for LSU Basketball?

The LSU Basketball team will have the best group we've seen under Matt McMahon heading into next season by a large margin. There's going to be plenty of turnover all across the conference with coaching changes and tons of transfer activity. The LSU Tigers seemingly have one of if not the best groups in the conference with depth at every position making them an early contender depending how the transfer portal shakes out.
