We've reached the weekend, and it's officially time to prepare for the LSU Football season opener in Las Vegas. This game is so hard to predict as both teams have a ton of turnover on the field and in the coaching staffs after horrible seasons defensivley. It may not be the perfect way to predict a game but, we simulated a game between the two teams in EA College Football 25 to see how the LSU Football team would fare.

There are a few flaws with the simulation as some players on both sides of this matchup opted out of the game or have yet to be added.

The first quarter started slow with LSU scoring first on a one-yard rushing touchdown from Josh Williams while USC scored on a 73 yard touchdown pass from Miller Moss to Zachariah Branch.

The second quarter is where things got off the track as the Trojans scored 24 points while the Tigers scored 21 points. The highlights from LSU were a one-yard touchdown from Kaleb Jackson, a ten yard touchdown pass from Garrett Nussmeier to Kyren Lacy and a 65 yard touchdown connection from Nussmeier and Lacy again.

Whatever video game Blake Baker said to the LSU defense and whatever adjustments he made at half worked as the Tigers defense wouldn't allow another point.

The Tigers would score a pair of touchdowns in the second half on touchdowns from CJ Daniels and Chris Hilton. The Tigers would add ten in the fourth with another touchdown from Jackson this time from three yards out and a Damian Ramos field goal.

Garrett Nussmeier's first start as LSU's full-time starter was perfect as he completed 21 of his 28 attempts for 365 yards for four touchdowns with no interceptions. The tandem of Josh Williams and Kaleb Jackson combined for 126 yards and three touchdowns rushing for 4.34 yards per carry.

In the receiving room, have a day Kyren Lacy, the Tigers new number one shows up with 7 catches for 185 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Mason Taylor would add 51 yards, CJ Daniels gets 47 yards and a touchdown, and Zavion Thomas catches three passes for 61 yards.

Defensively, the Tigers didn't fair well but, there were still a few impressive performances. Greg Penn III recorded ten solo tackles while Whit Weeks recorded 11 total tackles. The Tigers recorded no sacks and didn't force an interception which would be a massive red flag on Sunday. Jardin Gilbert forced and recovered a fumble which would be massive on Sunday. What the Tigers can't have on saturday is Harold Perkins Jr's performance as he totaled only four tackles.

Kicker Damian Ramos nailed his only field goal attempt from 42 yards out while nailing all seven extra point attempts.

How we'd leave the game feeling if this result plays out

If the LSU Football team picked up a massive win in Las Vegas to snap the season opening loss streak, against a ranked opponent, we'd all be thrilled. We would have some concerns starting with the defense even though they shut the virtual Trojans down in the second half. On the offensive side, you couldn't be happier with the result especially from Garrett Nussmeier even if it's against USC's defense. Overall, a win on Sunday would be a massive win for the Tigers hopes of making the College Football Playoff and a great sign for the weeks to come.
