Early Season TV Schedule set for LSU Football's first three games
The College Football season is slowly approaching as we are less than 100 days away from the start of the College Football season. As the season approaches fans are dying for any information about their team. LSU fans can start to make travel arrangements and television viewing plans as the first three weeks of the television schedule have been released.
The LSU Tigers will face the USC Trojans on Sunday September 1st at 7:30 PM Eastern Time on ABC to kick off the season. This matchup has grown in intrigue as reports swirl that USC and Lincoln Riley tried to get this game cancelled for two years. The game will mark the third time ever that the LSU Tigers and USC Trojans played with LSU taking the last matchup in 1984.
The following week, the LSU Tigers will host Nicholls at 7:30 PM Eastern Time on ESPN+ and SEC Network+. The Nicholls game should allow the LSU Football team the opportunity to get some of the underclassmen playing time especially as they may be needed down the stretch of the season.
The LSU Tigers will return to prime time television when they kick off their SEC Schedule at the South Carolina Gamecocks at 12:00 PM Eastern Time on ABC. The Tigers will enter the game with a seven game winning streak against the Gamecocks with LSU taking the 2020 matchup in a 52-24 blowout.
What Are Some Other Potential Primetime Games for LSU
While the LSU Football team is already set to play on National Television twice with two night games the schedule is loaded with potential primetime matchups. On October 12th, LSU will play host to Ole Miss and both teams have a strong chance to enter the game undefeated. LSU will host Alabama on November 9th, in a matchup that will almost certainly be a primetime game and it may return College Gameday to Baton Rouge. Other potential primetime games include Oklahoma, Florida, and Texas A&M depending what the team's records are heading into the game.
