Final injury update for the LSU Football team vs Nicholls State
The LSU Football team is set to kickoff the 100th season of Tiger Stadium here in Baton Rouge. The LSU Football team has dealt with a little bit of the injury bug through two weeks of the season. The Tigers were without Chris Hilton Jr for the season opener and they lost his backup Kyle Parker on the opening drive.
During the week, John Emery Jr tore his ACL while Garrett Dellinger has dealt with a concussion.
This week, LSU may be without Garrett Dellinger as he's questionable with a concussion. Given how late into the week Dellinger was added to the injury report, we likely won't see him this weekend. Keeping Dellinger out for this game is the smart move as concussions aren't to be messed around with while LSU shouldn't need Dellinger tonight. If Dellinger doesn't play, Tyree Adams will slot in at guard.
At receiver, LSU will once again be without Chris Hilton Jr and Kyle Parker as both are nearing returns and we'll likely see them next week. We should once again see a ton of Aaron Anderson and Zavion Thomas while Brian Kelly said LSU needs to get Shelton Sampson ready to step up. It's smart not to rush Hilton back as he deals with a bone bruise because you'd prefer that he's at 100%.
The Tigers did release a depth chart for tonight's game that shows a few interesting tweaks. We were told that Kylin Jackson and Dashawn Spears would split time at safety due to Jardin Gilbert's ejection, LSU now has the pair starting together. Jordan Allen played well last week so the demotion may just be because Jackson and Spears worked together this summer.
Finally, reserve Princeton Malbrue is out after suffering a knee injury last weekend against USC.
