This weekend, the LSU Football team has a unique test on hand as the Tigers will host the red hot South Alabama Jaguars. After starting 0-2, Major Applewhite's team has scored 135 points over their last eight quarters and against an LSU defense that has its struggles they could be looking to do damage.

This is a defense in limbo even as the Tigers are through their first four games. Blake Baker has to replace Harold Perkins this week while he's still looking to find the best replacements for Jacobian Guillory who is also out for the season. As LSU hosts South Alabama, keep an eye on these five defensive players who could make a massive impact this weekend.

Jay'Viar Suggs - Defensive Tackle

While Jay'Viar Suggs didn't play a ton last weekend, he was one of the most impactful defensive players in the game. Suggs logged just eight snaps but, produced four QB pressures, a sack, a tackle for a loss, and batted down a pass at the line of scrimmage.

As LSU continues to try and replace Jacobian Guillory after he tore his achilles, Suggs should be a player who continues to see an increased number of snaps. Given that Suggs was an incredible pass rusher at Grand Valley State, the Tigers should continue to turn to Suggs to create pressure up the middle.

Dominick McKinley - Defensive Tackle

Along the same lines as Jay'Viar Suggs, Dominick McKinley had a solid game last weekend against UCLA. The Five Star defensive tackle recorded his first collegiate sack just absolutely demolishing the center driving him into Ethan Garbers.

After impressing against UCLA, we should only see McKinley's playing time grow over the weeks to come and it should. McKinley has all of the talent in the world and continuing to get him playing time will only help in his development.
