The Jacksonville Jaguars continue to reunite the LSU Tigers as they selected LSU Defensive tackle Jordan Jefferson with the 116th Overall Pick. The Jacksonville Jaguars will reunite Jefferson with Brian Thomas Jr who the team selected in the first round as well as with Maason Smith who the team selected in the second round. This marks the first time in the history of the NFL Draft that three LSU Tigers have been drafted to the same team in one draft.

The Jaguars are landing one of the most powerful defensive linemen in the draft as shown with Jefferson's bench press at the combine where he benched 225 pounds for 34 reps. This power allows Jefferson to be effective as both a pass rusher and as a run defender. If the Jaguars can get Jefferson to be more consistent then this is a slam dunk of a pick.

Jefferson joins a revamped Jacksonville Jaguars defense with the additions of Arik Armstead, Maason Smith, Ronald Darby, and Darnell Savage. The Jaguars will have one of the leagues top defensive front's with Jefferson and Smith joining Arik Armstead who's one of the top defensive tackles and edge rusher Josh Allen who's coming off of a 17.5 sack season.

Great Strategy by the Jacksonville Jaguars

Whenever players make the transition from College Football to the NFL you often hear about how difficult adjusting to the NFL is. The Jacksonville Jaguars are making it a little easier for their impressive rookie class by giving the trio familiar faces to lean on. The Jaguars invested a lot of capital into Brian Thomas Jr, Maason Smith, and Jordan Jefferson and making the players comfortable will certainly pay off in the long run.
