Joe Sloan has started to build his 2027 big board of quarterbacks
This weekend, it seemed that Joe Sloan had picked his top recruiting target at quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class by offering a scholarship to Dunham quarterback Elijah Haven. The offer made a ton of sense as Haven is the Nation's top overall quarterback, is a Louisiana native, and has been at two LSU home games.
Sloan however has apparently liked what he's seen from several quarterbacks in the 2027 class as he's started to hand out offers to other signal callers.
Joe Sloan also offered another Louisiana Native this weekend as he extended an offer to Peyton Houston. The Evangel Christian Academy starter already holds offers from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Baylor, and Colorado among other schools. Houston is smaller than Haven standing just 6 foot flat but, he's an incredible passer.
Houston currently is only ranked by Rivals which ranks him as the 15th best player in the country and the second-ranked dual-threat quarterback.
The third offer that Joe Sloan handed out this weekend went to Trae Taylor out of Mundelein, Illinois. Taylor has visited LSU a few times where Joe Sloan was able to watch him sling it and he's seemingly their favorite out-of-state quarterback. Rivals is the only platform to rank Taylor thus far but, he has been impressive as their 33rd ranked player in the class.
The Tigers also extended an offer to 2027 quarterback Trent Seaborn who was in Tuscaloosa watching Alabama vs Georgia this weekend. Seaborn has throw for Joe Sloan and is a quarterback that has generated a ton of buzz Nationally in his recruitment. 24/7 Sports ranks Seaborn as a top 100 recruit in the class and a top ten quarterback in the class.
Finally, we saw Joe Sloan extend an offer to Colton Nussmeier the younger brother of Garrett Nussmeier. This isn't just an offer because of the family ties as Colton may end up as a better recruit than Garrett was. As things currently stand, Nussmeier is the third-ranked quarterback in the class and the 19th-ranked player in the country.
The Tigers will seemingly land whichever top quarterback they want
The shocking part about the offers LSU extended is that the Tigers didn't even offer in-state Malachi Zeigler. Even while leaving out two of the Nation's best quarterbacks, you could easily envision LSU landing one of these highly ranked quarterbacks. Sloan has done an excellent job building all of these relationships but, we'll need to see which quarterback he's able to reel in.
