Kaleb Jackson is exactly what the LSU Football team has missed the past few years
Over the past few seasons, the LSU Football team has gotten away from demolishing teams with their rushing attack. It’s easy to see why with a quarterback as talented as Jayden Daniels and receivers like Malik Nabers, Brian Thomas Jr, Kayshon Boutte, Kyren Lacy, and Mason Thomas.
One of the biggest and only issues with LSU’s high powered offense has been that sometimes after the defense got gashed on a long drive they were heading right back onto the field after a massive touchdown from the offense.
The LSU Football team also has one of the best offensive lines in the country heading into 2024. With a group as impressive as LSU has up front, it’s going to be a massive asset to run the football wearing defenses down.
The Tigers do lose the two leading rushers from 2023 but, the group returning is very talented. The lead back emerging from this group is sophomore Kaleb Jackson.
In 2023, Jackson rushed for 165 yards and four touchdowns on 31 carries averaging 5.3 yards per carry. His biggest play in 2023 was a highlight run where he trucked a Mississippi State defender in a Sportscenter Top 10 play, he recreated that play this summer.
Offensive coordinator Joe Sloan spoke on Kaleb Jackson earlier this week saying the following:
"Everybody saw last year Kaleb when he was able to get the football and especially once he broke the first or second level he’s a punishing back, he is hard to tackle, he runs he gets his pads down on contact and he’s able to drive his feet and he’s a powerful powerful human."

The Tigers need to lean on teams
In past seasons, LSU has had the firepower to win in a shootout against any team in the country. If the LSU Football team is going to be more complete it starts with leaning on teams in the running game. The Tigers have a first time starter at quarterback and a ton of pressure can be lifted if LSU can be effective running the football.
