This season has been a monster year for prospects in the MLB and the minor leagues. The debuts of Paul Skenes and Jackson Holliday have taken the MLB by storm while Dylan Crews is also surging in the minor leagues.

The LSU Baseball prospect that has been flying under the radar is infielder Tre Morgan. In the 2023 MLB Draft, the Rays selected Morgan with the 88th overall pick which would as an absolute steal. The Rays we’re a perfect landing spot for Morgan as they’re known for their ability to develop big league talent.

All Morgan has done is hit in the minor leagues as he’s flown through the minor leagues into Double A. In 2024, Morgan has 105 hits with a .358 batting average with eight homers, 55 RBIs, 19 stolen bases, and an unbelievable .959 OPS.

Each week Morgan seemingly gets better and better racking up player of the week accolades.

The only player rivaling Tre Morgan at the plate in the minors is Chandler Simpson his teammate in the Rays system as both battle for the Minor League batting title.

Will we see Dylan Crews and Morgan in the MLB this year

The MLB season is in the final stretch which is limiting the chances to see Crews and Morgan. They’re both hurt by the fact that the Nationals and Rays aren’t pushing for the playoffs otherwise they’d likely be in the Majors. Our best chance to see Morgan and Crews is in September when rosters expand by two spots.
