The LSU Baseball team had been on a hot streak picking up massive series wins which brought them back into contention for the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers needed to pick up series wins against Alabama and Ole Miss to put them in a great spot to make the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers will now need a sweep of Ole Miss to get to 13 SEC wins which would give them a serious shot at the tournament.

The Tigers should've certainly won game one as they squandered the game in the bottom of the ninth. The LSU Baseball team had a one-run lead with the bases loaded and two outs when Alabama hit a swinging bunt between the pitcher and catcher, the throw beat the Alabama batter to the bag but was offline going into the outfield allowing Alabama to score a second run winning the game.

The Tigers won game two of the series giving them a serious shot to take the series anyways in game three. The third game of the series was close all day with the LSU bullpen keeping the Tigers in the game until the offense found itself. The eighth inning saw LSU score twice cutting the Alabama lead to one but, the rally ended there as LSU was unable to plate the tying run in the ninth.

Must sweep series coming up against the Rebels

The current RPI rankings and D1 Baseball projections currently have LSU Baseball on the outside looking in. The Tigers are currently in the next four out while Ole Miss is seen as a bubble team by most outlets. This weekend in Baton Rouge a sweep would give LSU a fighting chance while anything less will likely end any chances of an NCAA Tournament bid.
