The past few weeks have been filled with incredible news for Matt McMahon on the recruiting trail as he continues to crack the finalist lists for recruiting targets. The past seven days have seen the LSU basketball team crack the finalist lists for three top-50 recruits in Center Jaden Toombs, Guard Nyk Lewis, and Guard King Grace.

The good news continues to roll in for LSU as they've been named one of the final seven for point guard Jalen Reece alongside Providence, USF, Cincinnati, Ohio State, Penn State, and Dayton.

On3's Industry Ranking ranks Jalen Reece as the 11th best point guard in the class and the 67th best player overall. The Tigers appear to be the front runner for Jalen Reece as the recruiting prediction machine gives LSU a 41.5% chance at landing Reece while Penn State is the closest competitor with a 27.4% chance.

24/7 Sports analyst Travis Branham had the following to say about Jalen Reece:

"Jalen Reece is one of the top floor generals in this class. Tough, competitive, and high IQ point guard that makes others better and creates out of ball screens."

The Tigers have a visit right around the corner as Reece will make the trip to Baton Rouge on September 21st which is the day the football team will host UCLA so we may see him appear at the game.

Recruiting ramping up for the LSU Basketball program

After landing the Nation's 13th ranked recruiting class last season, things are on the up and up for Matt McMahon's program. The month of September will see several of the Nation's top recruits head to Baton Rouge for official visits where LSU will continue to push for top recruits. How the LSU Basketball team starts the season will heavily influence recruits which with Matt McMahon's best roster to date shouldn't be a tall task.
