The recruiting season is about to ramp up for the LSU Basketball program like its been for the baseball and football programs. As things currently stand, LSU hasn't landed a recruit in the 2025 recruiting class but, there's no reason to panic as few schools have commitments and hardly any have multiple commitments.

The LSU Basketball team is coming off of a solid recruiting cycle where Matt McMahon reeled in the Nation's 13th ranked recruiting class with three top-75 commitments.

The Tigers have put themselves in a great position with several top recruits in the 2025 class and have landed among the finalists for several players. The latest player to put LSU in his finalist list is point guard Nyk Lewis.

Nyk Lewis is ranked as the 41st best player in the class and the sixth ranked point guard in the class according to On3. This recruitment is seemingly wide open as On3's recruiting prediction machine has Seton Hall as the leader with a 18.8% chance to land Lewis with Xavier and Michigan right behind while LSU, Marquette, and Oklahoma State are in a three-way tie with 11.8% chances to land Lewis.

Time to heat up for Matt McMahon and LSU Basketball

After a season where the LSU Basketball team finished 17-16 it's time for the LSU Basketball program to get back into contending in the SEC. This starts by landing top tier recruits which LSU has done under McMahon while they sit in a great place with 2025 recruits Jalen Reece, Kayden Edwards, and Five-Star Louisiana Native Chris Cenac. Landing another solid recruiting class to pair with last years class would put LSU in a great position to start contending in the SEC like they did under Will Wade.
