The LSU Basketball team has officially gotten their conference opponents for the upcoming season. The additions of Oklahoma and Texas to the conference has changed the way the schedules are constructed but, overall everything is very similar.

LSU Basketball will host Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt.

The LSU Tigers will then travel to face Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M.

The most notable thing about the schedule is that Alabama will not travel to Baton Rouge.

The non-conference schedule should be announced within the next few weeks giving us the dates and games to plan trips around.

The excitement for Matt McMahon’s third season is building each day with the roster set for 2024. The Tigers will look to be competitive in the SEC but, Alabama and Arkansas are building super teams that will rule the league.

If the LSU basketball team exceeds expectations it’ll be because the freshman exceed their expectations. This team will likely be led by the incoming freshmen and transfers with a highly touted class coming in.

It’s interesting to see a shift in the scheduling with the additions of Oklahoma and Texas as the conference becomes much deeper. The additions in both football and basketball should bring new rivalries to which is best for the sport as a whole.

LSU Basketball: Still need a center

The LSU Basketball team is filled with high scoring wings and guards however this team has a need down low. The Tigers are at their scholarship limit due to the fallout of the Will Wade scandal but, that number is moot. The team can land a potential big man as a walk on with NIL being used as the way to pay for school.
