As the College Basketball season approaches, the LSU Basketball team had everything set but, an official schedule. The Tigers were one of the last teams to announce a non-conference schedule but, games like SMU and Florida State are must watch.

For Matt McMahon, after two mediocre seasons, the LSU Basketball team needs to get back in the right direction. The past two seasons, LSU hasn’t come close to competing for the SEC and that needs to change and fast.

The SEC announced its official schedules for the upcoming season and we can finally start planning trips for the season.

The Tigers will host Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Auburn, Texas, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, and Texas A&M. In this group, Arkansas stands out as Coach Calipari joins the Razorbacks as the top game to see.

LSU will travel to Missouri, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi State, and Kentucky. In this group, Alabama enters the season with National Championship aspirations so it’s be a great time to see a Tiger win on the road. Facing Kentucky at the end of Mark Pope’s first season at the helm could provide for incredible drama.

Be a threat in conference this season

Look the LSU Basketball team doesn’t have the firepower of teams like Alabama, Arkansas, and Auburn in the SEC and that’s okay. The Tigers can’t be the dormat for the rest of the conference this season as they’ve been against some teams. If LSU can be competitive in some of these bigger games, it would be a big step forward for the program.
