This weekend as the recruiting dead period comes to a brief end, programs around the Nation are hosting top recruits prior to the start of Fall Camp. The two headliners of these massive recruiting visits early on have been LSU and Bayou Splash and the Auburn Tigers with their Big Cat Weekend.

The Tigers are facing off against each other for several top recruits across three recruiting classes this weekend. Auburn was able to land the first massive recruit of the few considering both school as they reeled in the 16th-ranked recruit in the 2026 recruiting class Hezekiah Harris who was expected in Baton Rouge this weekend.

The 2025 recruiting class has one recruit the two sides are facing off for in Safety Anquon Fegans prior to his commitment date. Fegans is ranked by the On3 industry rankings as the 57th-best recruit in the class and as the 5th-ranked safety. The top-60 recruit will announce his commitment on Monday and the Tigers did a great job with putting themselves firmly in the conversation to land Fegans.

LSU battles Auburn once more for 2026 linebacker JaMichael Garrett the 124th ranked player in the class and the 11th ranked linebacker. The linebacker entered the weekend expected to head to Auburn however, the LSU staff did an excellent job with Garrett who is seemingly nearing a decision.

Great news coming out of Bayou Splash

Thus far, the only negative is the fact that five-star two-sport star Jonah Williams had to reschedule his trip to Baton Rouge at the last minute but, he will still visit which is good news. As things currently stand it seems that LSU has done an incredible job this weekend and we may even see some announcements in the days to come. All eyes for the Tigers will be on August when Jaime Ffrench and Jonah Williams are set to commit.
