The LSU Football team is ramping up it's pursuit of transfer defensive tackles as the transfer portal begins to wind down. The LSU Football team had missed out on a few of it's top transfer targets however, that may soon change as LSU has two visitors this weekend. LSU Football has four scholarships open for the team to fill with defensive tackle as the top priority.

The first visitor is Grand Valley State transfer defensive tackle Jay'Viar Suggs. The LSU football team is joining in on the push for Suggs late and will look to beat out Kentucky, Wisconsin, and Michigan for Suggs. Working in Brian Kelly's favor is the fact that he was the head coach of Grand Valley State for a decade while his son Kenzel played alongside Suggs.

The second visitor is a player that we hadn't heard about LSU recruiting until lately in Stephen F Austin transfer Brandon Lane. Lane recorded 16 solo tackles with 1.5 sacks in 2023 for the Lumberjacks. LSU will have to beat out USC, Arizona, Louisville, and Oklahoma for Lane but, they're at the point where they need to land a defensive tackle at some point.

The team is still pursuing UL Monroe transfer Adin Huntington but, no visit is currently planned. The team will certainly look to get Huntington in on a visit this upcoming week. While the other two players are talented, Huntington would be a massive add and could certainly start for the Tigers in week one.

While the names LSU is recruiting aren't household names from big football schools, you have to believe in Bo Davis and his ability to coach defensive talent up. The team has already brought in Wisconsin transfer Gio Paez to play alongside Jacobian Guillory at defensive tackle. They'll also add five-star freshman Dominick McKinley to the position once he enrolls in the Summer with McKinley having the talent to play as a true freshman.
