LSU Football Players at every position who will demolish their career highs in 2024
Kyren Lacy - Wide Receiver
We saw a ton of Kyren Lacy in 2023 as he hauled in 30 catches for 558 yards and seven touchdowns in 2023. Lacy put up those numbers in a receiving core with Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. Now with Nabers and Thomas out of the picture, Lacy has looked the part of the next great LSU wide receiver.
Throughout Spring and Summer camp, Lacy has hit a new level and continues to develop alongside Garrett Nussmeier. The Reliaquest serves as a great example as he caught six passes for 95 yards with Garrett Nussmeier at quarterback. As the true leader in the receiving room its easy to see Lacy smashing his career highs while the only number that could be tough to beat is his seven touchdowns.
Mason Taylor - Tight End
Mason Taylor missed time in 2023 and he still finished the season with 348 yards and a touchdown just 66 yards and two touchdowns behind his freshman season. Taylor has been productive in receiver rooms with Malik Nabers, Brian Thomas Jr, Kyren Lacy, Kayshon Boutte, and Jaray Jenkins all demanding a ton of targets.
The Reliaquest Bowl should be a good example of what we may see with Garrett Nussmeier passing him the football as he hauled in a season high seven passes for a season high 88 yards in the bowl game. Brian Kelly has already hinted at running more 12 and 13 personnel which is a great sign for how the tight ends will be used.
