The College Football Season is right around the corner as were just weeks away from spending every saturday into January on the couch watching games. As the season inches closer we're continuing to see the release of Awards Watchlists and Polls indicating where the experts see the LSU Tigers season heading.

The first USA Today Coaches Poll of the season was released Monday afternoon with the Tigers coming in as the 12th ranked team in the country.

The Tigers finished 12th in the Coaches Poll to finish the 2023 season so the 2024 team will pick up right where it left off.

On first glance seeing the Tigers ranked 12th many will think that would put LSU into the College Football Playoff. That sentiment is wrong however, as with the 12 team College Football Playoff one Group of Five Conference Champion will make the Playoff.

The ranking will seem a little low for LSU fans expectations however, it makes a ton of sense. The Tigers have plenty of questions replacing three first round picks and both coordinators which the voters would like to see before ranking the Tigers too high on the list.

This season, the LSU Tigers will face the fifth ranked team Alabama at Home, Sixth Ranked Ole Miss at Home, 16th Ranked Oklahoma at Home, 20th ranked Texas A&M on the road, and 23rd ranked USC in Las Vegas.

Which week will be the one that shows everything to the voters?

The voters are seemingly in a wait and see period with the LSU Football team which is fine given the turnover on the roster and with the staff. But, which week will the voters come around on LSU is the biggest question? If LSU wins against USC will that be enough to open eyes because the next big game will come in October against Ole Miss. The Tigers will be able to boast a nobody believes in us campaign to start the year which will add some fuel to the fire.
