Every year, the Outland Trophy is awarded to the best interior lineman in College Football. The Award was first given out in 1946 by the Football Writers Association of America named after John H. Outland who was an All American at tackle and halfback in 1899. The Award gives an incredible honor to the unsung heros that make everything happen who often don't get recognized by the major awards.

The LSU Football program has only had one player win the Outland Trophy when Glenn Dorsey brought the award home along with a National Championship, the Lott Trophy, the Bronco Nagurski trophy, the Lombardi Award, and the SEC Defensive Player of the Year Award.

This year, the LSU Football team has two players named to the pre-season watchlist in Left Tackle Will Campbell and Right Tackle Emery Jones Jr.

For Will Campbell, this is business as usual as he continues to rack up incredible honors heading into the season. The First-Team All-SEC offensive tackle will be one of if not the front runner for the award while protecting the blindside of Garrett Nussmeier.

The nomination for Emery Jones Jr is more impactful as Campbell's dominance often overshadows how good Emery Jones Jr has been for the Tigers. The LSU Football team has hands down the best offensive tackle duo in college football and the entire unit should be one of the front runners for the Joe Moore Award.

The Biggest Snubs from LSU Football

The LSU Football team had it's two best linemen nominated for the award but, you can argue there were a handful of notable omissions. The Tigers have arguably the Nation's top guard tandem in Garrett Dellinger and Miles Frazier both of whom should have received recognition. On the defensive side of the football, its hard to find a notable snub but, by mid-season one of the defensive tackles should play themselves into the conversation.
