Throughout the season, one of the most important parts of game day is getting recruits onto campus to see a game. Mostly, the LSU Football team will be hosting 2026 recruits prior to their decisions being made but, we'll see a few 2025 recruits make their way to Baton Rouge. While LSU will be away from home this weekend, the Tigers will have two massive recruits watching the game in person this weekend.

The first recruit that'll be in attendance won't have to travel far as LSU commit Derek Meadows is right around the corner. Meadows plays his high school football in Nevada at the powerhouse Bishop Gorman, so he won't have to travel far to see his future team play. Landing Meadows took winning a massive recruiting battle and the Tigers will look to do everything they can to keep him on board. Gorman is ranked as the 41st-ranked player in the class, the 7th-ranked receiver, and the top player in Nevada.

The Tigers will also have one of their top priorities attending the game in 2026 defensive tackle Jahkeem Stewart. Three of the four recruiting services rank Stewart as the best player in the class while there has been some talk that Stewart may reclassify. Stewart will be there also watching the USC Football team who has been heavily pushing to land the Louisiana native. The Tigers winning this game could be a massive factor in Stewart's recruitment.

Derek Meadows became an even bigger priority

When Derek Meadows committed, there was still a hope that LSU would land Jaime Ffrench or Kaliq Lockett alongside him. Both players have since committed to Texas and while they can still be flipped, it's very unlikely. Now the Tigers must protect their elite receiver as schools like Alabama and Notre Dame will continue their push to land Meadows.
