This weekend was an important one for the LSU Football team as a loss would all but, end any hope of a College Football Playoff appearance and start discourse over whether or not Brian Kelly was the right coach for the program. The Tigers are now in the win column in SEC play and are set to host UCLA and South Alabama before their next test against Ole Miss. Here are a few things worth mentioning as we leave the weekend.

A clear improvement in two games against USC

In the opening game when LSU needed a touchdown the most late in the fourth quarter, the Tigers couldn't convert on what seemed like a do or die drive and kicked a field goal instead tying the game rather than taking the lead. This weekend, the LSU Football team trailing by four points went on an eight play drive picking up 55 yards while eating up 2:34 of game time en route to a go ahead touchdown. The drive easily could've stalled out given how parts of the game went but, in the clutch LSU went out and took the lead. The Tigers eating up some clock rather than scoring in a flash saved the day as South Carolina had to attempt a 49 yarder as time expired.

Caden Durham has to be the starting running back going forward

There were a ton of good moments for the LSU Football team this weekend but, one moment flipped the game. LSU finally started to dig out of there 17-0 hole as Caden Durham refused to be denied on his way to a 26 yard touchdown. For the first time this season, it looked like LSU had a rushing attack and it's all because of the fact that Durham was breaking tackles. Brian Kelly spoke on what made Durham so good this weekend saying the following:

"You’ve got to make people miss. You’ve got to break through tackles. He did a great job today."

We all love Josh Williams and Kaleb Jackson but, this is Caden Durham's backfield going forward until someone proves it isn't. Durham hardly has game experience yet, he's looked like the most explosive of the group. The Tigers should continue to get Durham carries as he'll only get better as he continues to gain experience.

Bryce Underwood continues breaking records

This weekend was another record setting weekend for the Nation's top recruit and LSU commit Bryce Underwood. Underwood set Michigan's All-Time Career Passing Touchdowns record with his 125th passing touchdown. The next number to watch is 157 which would break the state's All Time total career touchdown record.

SEC Nation is Heading to Baton Rouge

While College Gameday won't return to Baton Rouge this weekend and maybe not at all this season ESPN will be on campus this weekend. SEC Network's SEC Nation show will be live on the quad this weekend. On Saturday, Marty & McGee will be live from 8 to 9 AM and the SEC Nation show will follow from 9 AM to 11 AM.

College Gameday in Colombia was poorly handled

This weekend the atmosphere in Colombia, South Carolina was incredible as College Gameday returned for the first time in a decade. Everything wasn't as great as it appeared however as The Daily Gamecock reported that this weekend was in many ways a nightmare. The article reports that several students suffered injuries as a result of poor crowd control as fans pushed to make their way inside the gates.

"I was told that we were going to have numbered wristbands, and there were going to be a security check in, and they were going to check what we were bringing in. That was not the case, so that really could have been bad, like anything could've made it in there."
