LSU Women's Basketball will face strong opponents in the Baha Mar Pink Flamingo Championship
The Week of Thanksgiving is always hands down one of the best weekends in College Basketball. We get to see the best teams in the country head off to tournaments where they also face some of the best teams in the country giving us a great sense of where each team stands Nationally.
The LSU Women's Basketball team will have that opportunity this fall as they'll head to the Baha Mar Pink Flamingo Championship. The tournament is similar to the Battle for Atlantis which is also hosted in Nassau, Bahamas but, the events are at dueling resorts.
The Lady Tigers will head out of the country along with NC State, Southern, and the Washington Huskies playing in one of two Women's tournaments at the venue this year.
In their first matchup, LSU will take on the Washington Huskies on November 25th. The Huskies finished 16-15 last season despite an 11-0 start but, they do return three All-Conference players which bodes well for their 2024-25 season.
The Winner of the game between LSU and Washington will take on the winner of NC State and Southern in the Championship Game.
NC State is fresh off of a run to the final four in 2023-24 and given that they return a ton of pieces from that team they'll likely have another strong season. Everyone is expecting that Southern will have a strong year after a 15-15 season last year as they were dominant in the SWAC.
This tournament will give Kim Mulkey a great chance to gauge where her team is before they head into SEC Play.
