Early on everyone with the New York Giants is seemingly ecstatic about drafting Malik Nabers. Early on, Nabers and Jalin Hyatt got to pick the brain of NFL great Steve Smith.

Thursday, Nabers showed the Giants exactly why he was the best pick they could make in the NFL Draft. Nabers finished the OTAs practice hauling in two long touchdowns and made an incredible catch on a Daniel Jones pass.

Giants beat writer Art Stapleton had the following to say about the Nabers showing today:

"I have not seen a receiver have a practice like he did today since Odell. Jumped off the page if this was training camp my word."

What Stapleton is referring to is the media policy surrounding OTAs as only the team can release footage from practice.

The New York Giants simply put have lacked a true number one receiver ever since trading away Odell Beckham Jr. The role the team expected Nabers to fill may grow even more with the news that Darren Waller is likely retiring.

While it’s early on in Nabers NFL Career you can argue that he’s going to be the most talented receiver that Daniel Jones has played with. If he can reach the top tier playmaker status we all expect him to it’ll help the Giants with the development of players like Jalin Hyatt and Wan’dale Robinson.

What can we expect in Year One?

While it’s too soon to truly tell how good Nabers is at the NFL level, Giants fans, the team, LSU fans, and many unbiased parties are expecting massive things from Nabers. We’ve seen Brian Daboll produce massive seasons for Stefon Diggs and in Nabers rookie season it’s not a stretch to believe he can break the 1,000 yard mark. The LSU connection to Odell will place a ton of pressure on Nabers but, we all believe he has the talent to take that next step.
